Graco Infant Car Sear Recall

On July 4th, 2014, Graco Children’s products Inc, issued a voluntary Safety Advisory in Canada concerning certain Graco infant car seats. Further information pertaining to the Advisory that is being issued in Canada can be found on Transport Canada’s website by clicking here

In Canada, this safety advisory affects certain Graco Snugride and Aprica car seats. On certain infant car seats, the buckle may become difficult to unlatch or become stuck in the latched position, making it difficult to remove an infant from their car seat and increasing the risk of injury in the event of an emergency requiring immediate exit from the vehicle.

Affordable Summers with Young Kids!

In my humble opinion, summer is the best. I love the lazy, carefree, slightly laissez-faire feeling you get when it doesn’t get dark until 9 pm. The warm weather and sunshine doesn’t hurt either. And unlike winter where kiddos get really stir-crazy indoors all the time, there’s lots to do outside with friends and family. That is, if you can muster the effort.
Because the only thing that can really ruin summer is bored children. Kids of any age who have nothing to do are quite possibly the ultimate good-time buzz kill, but what are parents to do? Summer camp isn’t for everyone and can get pricey, and going to a ton of entertainment centres and activities can deplete the bank account too.
I’m quite sure that there are multitudes of ways to keep young ones busy in the summer heat.  However, not being a particularly creative sort (for years my kids were under the impression that a sprinkler and dollar store bubbles were the height of hot weather fun), I took to the streets and asked some of my parenting blogger friends for their ideas for making summer memories. The criteria? Maximum fun for minimum expenditure.
They came through for me (and you) in a big way. Here are some of their suggestions:
Get scientific: Kids really like hands-on learning. “One summer we blew things up every week in the back yard. My daughter is a hands-on learner, so this really appealed to her.: said Paula Schuck who has an entire Pinterest board dedicated to  Backyard Science. Julia Gabriel of Nugglemama’s Handful prints of pictures of bugs and leaves and animals that can be found around the neighborhood and then goes out on scavenger hunts with her five children.  (Scavenger hunts were pretty popular with several bloggers using them for all kinds of learning adventures.)
Explore your city: Maya Fitzpatrick of The Mayahood enjoys what Toronto has to offer. City parks, splash pads and wading pools, City of Toronto drop-in programs, and the zoo. She regularly visits libraries, the science centre, the beach, and indoor playgrounds too. Another favourite is watching the minor league baseball games at local parks and riding the city bike trails. You can also check out the local Y and other community centres for listing of programs that come free with memberships.
Hands-On: Get cooking with your kids in the kitchen says Melanie of Mama Musings. When your kids help you make the cookies you’ve kept them busy plus snack is all ready. And never underestimate the power of sidewalk chalk and an industrial size bottle of bubbles. She also has the children help out in her garden where they can  watch their food grow, eat it right off the plant, and then share it with their friends. Maya stocks up on craft supplies at the dollar store for rainy day activities.

What is your favourite thing about working at Li’l Niblets?
I have been in customer service for over four years now and it is definitely a sector in which I want to keep growing and that provides you with a skill set that translates into soo many other aspects of life and professions. Being able to provide customers with soo much one on one attention and product knowledge is incredible! I do not like a half well done job and here I am able to more than often go above and beyond for people.

What is your favourite product at the store and why?

My favourite product in the store would be the bugaboo Cameleon3 stroller. I have always had a bit of a thing for fashion and beauty and the Cameleon makes pushing your baby around so stylish! Not only is it a beautiful stroller but the grade of the materials used in the make of such is incredible! It is extremely easy and graceful to use and does not weigh that much at all! It is also almost as small as a full size stroller can get which is perfect in the city!

Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know.

I am a Salvation Army officer's kid and as such I was fortunate enough to live abroad for the majority of my life. I grew up in Madrid, Spain, were I spent twelve years and then lived in Mallorca, Spain, for ten months. Canada is were I was born. I am so happy to be back and the great things life has thrown my way thus far being here make it the place I'd like to call home. However the culture, values and appreciation for smaller things that my upbringing instilled in me is something that I would not change for anything in the world!

If you could travel to one place anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

This is a tough one since there are soo many places I would like to travel to. Because of life in general and wanting to further my education before so, I haven't had the chance to get started on discovering the world quite yet! But I do have plans to go to Korea and backpack Europe within the next four years. So I'm going to give you those two as a start (i know they're super vague) but I just cannot pick one very particular place! No matter how things unravel I am just excited to have the potential chance to fully immerse myself into different cultures and so ready to run head first into adventure!!!

What was the best piece of advice you were given as a kid?

Love people!!! Everyone makes mistakes and if we were to form an opinion upon someone based on their life choices or doings then we would all be a heck of a lot lonelier!! Love people for who they are and their beautiful souls and personalities.
